FAQs
What are a PA system and a drum amp?
A PA system is a sound reinforcement system used to amplify and distribute vocals, instruments, or other audio sources so they can be clearly heard by an audience. A drum amp, meanwhile, is an amplifier or monitor designed specifically to reproduce electronic drum sounds clearly during practice, band rehearsals, or live performances.
What's the difference between a PA system and a regular guitar/bass amp?
A PA system is designed to reproduce sound flatly and naturally from multiple sources (vocals, instruments, backing tracks), while a guitar/bass amp is built to shape a specific instrument's tone character. PA systems are more versatile for event sound reinforcement.
Do I need a drum amp if I already have electronic drums with a headphone jack?
Headphones work well for solo practice, but during band rehearsal, a drum amp/monitor is needed so the drummer and other players can clearly hear the electronic drums alongside the other instruments.
How many watts of PA power is enough for a small-to-medium event?
For small-to-medium indoor events (cafés, worship spaces, classrooms), an active PA around 100–200 watts is usually sufficient; outdoor events or larger rooms need more power or multiple speaker units.
Can NUX PA systems accept input from an external mixer?
Yes, most active PA units include standard inputs (1/4" jack, XLR, or RCA) compatible with external mixers for multi-channel setups.
Are these PA & drum amp units portable enough for different event locations?
Most models are compact with a carry handle and reasonable weight, making them easy to move between different event venues.
